A Message From Cherie: I’m so proud of you for taking this first step to journey into self-awareness and intentionality, which will soon develop into overall improvement of your mindset and behavior. I will help you find the best version of yourself through a whole-person perspective by utilizing person-centered, evidence-based practices within the counseling setting.
A Bit About Me Personally: I enjoy reading books related to my faith, as well as fiction. I LOVE music and can relate certain songs to the background of all major life events throughout my life. I love my people and my journey, no matter what stage I find myself in.
About Cherie
Cherie Dopson, MA, LPC-S, NCC, is the owner of Warrior Wellness Group, LLC. She is also a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. Cherie also spent twelve years as a middle school and high school teacher prior to becoming a therapist. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor and member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Cherie is also the founder of Selah Christian Counseling and Wellness, as well as NeuroSpa, a facility that provides wellness services, Christian counseling, neurofeedback, and life coaching. In addition, Cherie has conducted research on two grants (NIH and SAMSHA) in the areas of child abuse and substance abuse. She is also the creator and facilitator of a substance abuse and family counseling workshop through the University of Alabama at Birmingham Learning Institute. Cherie has also conducted many workshops on mental health concerns in the community. Cherie also works with the veteran community through Selah Christian Counseling and Wellness, providing transitional services to veterans leaving the military and those who already have.
Cherie is also able to conduct fertility evaluations as required and treatment of any fertility-related issues.
Cherie currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid, United Healthcare, Viva Health, Humana Tricare, American Behavioral, Behavioral Health Systems, Cigna, New Directions, and cash-pay clients.
